- The 5.0L was the most powerful standard V8 in its class. With a 4.10 axle ratio, it gave the Bronco a towing capacity of 7,700 lbs
- The Eddie Bauer trim includes all the interior luxuries as standard, such as reclining Captain’s chairs
- Despite fresh styling that matched the new F-150, the Bronco couldn’t hide its age (even when new). This generation represents one of the last vehicles you could get with a carburetor (5.8L in 1987). Even the high beam switch was still located on the floor
- The Bronco, released in 1966, was the world’s first SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle). Ford found a gap in the Jeep market, realizing that Jeep/Scout owners wanted a capable 4×4 that could also ride nice and not be so noisy
