- The WS6 option ($2,995), which included Ram Air induction, bumped the horsepower of the Trans Am from 285 to 305 and torque from 325 to 335 ft lbs
- The WS6 package added a Ram Air intake and twin induction nostrils to the hood. The composite hood was one of the most wild hoods ever installed on a production car
- The WS6 also included the 1LE suspension package (beefier front and rear anti-roll bars as well as stiffer springs/shocks/bushings). It was the same 1LE package offered on the Camaro except for the shocks: the WS6 received De Carbon shocks with unique valving, while the Camaro received Koni shocks
- Firmer transmission mounts, 17″ wheels and 245mm tires were also included
- The Ram Air induction system was built by SLP, who was contracted out by GM
- The front fenders on these cars were plastic, for weight savings
- WS6 cars receive unique rocker panels, modified C pillars, and smoothed out side scoops
- The known LT1 ignition problems were virtually eliminated in 1994 (1995 for F-bodies) when GM re-designed the Opti-spark distributor
- The 5 spoke wheels have a polished finish, vs a silver painted finish of the previous year (1997)
- Final year of the LT1 V8 engine. The following year (1998) introduced the LS1 V8
- A new 500-watt Monsoon audio system became available
- Daytime running lights were added (as well as all other F-body cars)
- First year of Bright Purple Metallic
- The WS6 could finally be had on the convertible
- The rare, limited edition Firehawk now featured the Lt4 engine from the Grand Sport Corvette
